Reshaping The Future

Who we are

A Dynamic Initiative to Improve Accessibility, Resiliency and Sustainability.

What is Reshaping the future?

Thanks to the generous support of the Federal and Provincial Governments, Town Hall 1873 received 73% of the initial funding for renovations aimed at improving the accessibility, sustainability and resiliency of the building’s 150-year-old infrastructure.

In 2019, the projected costs for these renovations were estimated at $770,000. However, updated costs to complete all projects have increased substantially and we now require $1,000,000 to finish the project.

We are thrilled to announce on the eve of the building’s 150th-anniversary celebrations that the Ron and Nancy Compton Family Foundation donated $150,000 towards the construction of a new, fully accessible elevator, bringing us closer to our goal. With this generous donation, we have begun planning the design and scope of work for the elevator, with a target completion date of fall 2025.

Now, we are reaching out to our community for the remaining $150,000 needed to finish this essential project. Your donation will directly support the installation of a fully accessible elevator that will replace the current aging lift. The new elevator will be designed to open from both sides, allowing for additional stops, including a stop at the stage level, for enhanced accessibility for all community members.

Please make a gift today to help us set the stage for the next 150 years!
